What a fabulous find! It looks like it is made from printed feedsacks.
("The Dresden Plate quilt pattern was one of the most popular quilts made during the 1920s and 30s. It was first published in the 20s but not always under the name Dresden Plate. Grandmother's Sunburst, Friendship Ring, Aster, Dahlia and Sunflower are all names I've seen for this pattern." Excerpt from Dresden Plate History.)

Thank you all for the thoughts and wishes!! It is "Retroclean" that I purchased. Was told it is good stuff. Still have not worked on it. I am not sure what is inside, one good thing is that the base fabric and backing and binding are all intact. I wondered if it were feed sacks, some of the fabric is a little courser than regular. The quilt inspector is our "Old Man", he is 12 years old and came to stay with us about a year ago. He is Basset and, I think, Springer. He has a perfect heart one each side. He has turned into the perfect companion for DH and I. I joke that he fits right in. Old. Fat. And Lazy!!!!
