Patriotic UFO done!
#1
I have had these Patriotic Quilt squares haunting me for several months. Thanks to your/the board's nagging, I pulled out the shoe box and made the remaining 25 blocks yesterday and finished the top today. (I also made the binding, and cut the back.)
The pattern is from an older quilt magazine and is called Starry Nites. I saw someone post some blocks in a cool blue -- and one made wrong. I almost laughed my socks off cuz I made one OOPS like that too! Anyway, the top, binding, and back go off to Northern WA state for a wounded vet via AmericanHeroQuilts.com
I challenge other members of this board to make a patriotic quilt by the 4th of July--and then post the pics! Then send it off to a veteran thru your favorite org (or mine above!).

I'm just finishing a very similar quilt - squares of various patriotic fabrics but instead of a star each center has a white seashell shape with red blanket stitching. It's for the 90th (!) birthday of a friend from my dance class (!) who was born on July 4th. I made her a signature quilt for a big party for her 80th and she said she'd like another one. Wish I'd have seen this one earlier with the star center, it would have been so appropriate.
