It is appox 3ft wide and 4ft long. So you all think its like the 1940s era?

I love Chenille - that is what it looks like to me. When I see Chenille I think of my grandmothers - very comforting.

It's a lovely old chenille bedspread. Used to see a lot of them when I was a child (I'm 77) but they went "out of style".
I still have my mother's chenille housecoat, warm and comfy. Still wear it but it goes to the dry cleaner more often than the washer, and one of my DDs has her name on it.

When I was growing up in the UK, I knew these as Candlewick Bedspreads, they were embroidered by hand with thick cotton, and cut into tufts. Later on, there were machine made versions.
