It's a chenille spread. I remember seeing chenille in the 1940's.

I agree. This is exactly what it is. I grew up with chenille bed spreads and this is exactly what they looked like. They also tickled your nose when covered up a night. LOL

My mom used to have chenille spreads on all our beds and that was in the 50's.

By the time I was a teen in the 70's these were appearing in 'junk shops' and salvation army bins. Hehehe, now they are antiques. Whoa! What does that make me? Looks like a child size chenille spread. Pretty.

In the U.K. these used to be known as Candlewick Bedspreads..so soft and fluffy! :thumbup:

My Mom used a chenille spread very much like that on my crib. I was born in 1949. I still have my spread stored away in the cedar chest.

This brings back memories. It is a chenille bedspread. This one is a childs. They were still around in the 50's and 60's (they may have been old then) at my grandmothers house. I loved them. I had one for years but they don't come in King size.

chenille. i also had a chenille bedspread with a peacock on it as a teenager. still have part of it. they would be for sale and hung on clotheslines outdoors all over mo. and ark. at tourist shops.
