This is "Sylvia's Tree," a wallhanging that I designed and that my bee made for a bee member, who had breast cancer surgery this week. The wallhanging is full of all sorts of special symbols to remind Sylvia that we care. She loves batiks and bright colors and folk art. Her cancer was discovered by a mammogram. They aren't fun, but they can save lives. I'm getting one Monday. It's something to think about. (PS, The quilt is straight, bad photographer (me!)

Thank you , all. The tree of life has special meanings to her and to me. One of the greatest things about this hobby has been the sharing that goes on between true friends. Homemade soup, a personalized gift and a half hour of friendship seemed to have perked her up quite a bit.
