This quilt is adorable! Good idea to try a sample piece with the thread, washing and drying it to see how the thread holds up.

I've used many spools of Invisafil thread. I think perhaps some people are confusing this thread with invisible thread, the clear thread used by some quilters. It's a very fine thread which is great for bobbins. I often use Deco-Bob (same brand) for the machine thread and Invisafil for the bobbin. It all washes and dries perfectly.

Love the quilt. I also used the thread on a quilt for my grandson and after about a year quite a bit of the thread just disapeared. I was able to repair the quilt by doing SITD. I also will not be using this thread again. Hugs BrendaK

Look up difference between nylon thread and polyester, both invisible.
Nylon will melt, polyester will not.
Here's an explanation of Nylon vs. Polyester at superior Threads
Sorry link didn't work

How very adorable! I love the little quilt and I hope she values it enough to heed your warnings.

Here's a link to Wonderfil's website where you can see the Invisafil thread: http://www.wonderfil.ca/invisafil
