Woohooo! Finally a fabric deal-
#1
I have found some good buys at Goodwill but now I'm ecstatic! I answered an ad(you know where) for fabric for sale and in the conversation the woman said she'd be willing to trade out fabric for having a quilt finished. That sounded good to me. When I got there, she showed me the quilt her grandmother had made for her daughter and then passed away before she could finish it. It's beautiful and has a hand embroidered message to her great grandaughter. How could I resist? She traded me quilt quality fabric @ $2yd and threw in a box of fabric samples! I have 82.5yds of fabric in 2 yd segments, three quilted panels for baby blankets(I donate them) a few odds and ends and to my surprise, several really nice batiks in the sample box. This not cheap fabric. Some are Marcus Bro. These aren't little squares. There's enough flannels and baby prints to make several charity baby quilts. And...she will have this stuff twice a year and will call me before advertising! I laid out part of it to take pictures and my daughter is ooohing and aweing over the wonderful samples. I will post a picture of the quilt when I get it finished. I have to add a border and a ruffle and quilt it as Grandma had planned. I am a happy camper and DH thinks I lost my mind.C'est la vie.

That is a great deal - cant wait to see the quilt - I would be quite nervous to quilt something that precious for someone - I would be afraid that about the time I was close to finished my machine would act up or something and ruin the quilt lol Of course I dont have a longarm though lol
