    I got a Janome 6600 today! WOOHOOO :)

Can you tell that I am excited???
I was able to get 'her' today. She was used but traded in to our local sewing machine shop for a long arm.
It has been servced, I even got all the feet that went with it, the extended bed, plus the accufeed 1/4 foot!
Oh and I got a Tutto bag for it to all fit in for 125.00,(the bag had to be the 24 inch one to fit the machine in) The machine was 1,000. Came with a year warranty and was just serviced by the shop. I am so very excited! Oh one more 'blessing' I took my FW in to be serviced and cleaned, they are foing it for free since I bought this machine today. That service is a 89.00 fee. So that was even a better deal huh?

Now to get her out and'play'.

Oh wait, I wanted to ask you all, what names do you have for your machines?
    Do you name them?
If so tell me what their names are.

    Off to play......

I'm sure you will be very happy with your new machine. I purchased a 6600 a tad more than a year ago and love, love it! I just wish I had more time to use it... Enjoy!

Congratulations! I love mine and I admit did not use it until I took the lessons from the shop. I haven't named my machine, nothing has struck me. Only one that I have named is my treadle because it belonged to my great Aunt May. She lived with my great grandmother before I was born, so it just seemed appropriate.

Doing the happy dance for you! Happy, happy, joy, joy! My 6600 is now a week old so I'm not much farther down the road than you. Do join the yahoo group for 6500/6600/7700. Search "yahoo group janome 6600" and you'll find it.

Love that you got the bag, too. My old bag is too small for this machine so I'll be taking it to a class next weekend with a fork lift, I guess. It's my only machine right now so no choice. I always expected to upgrade and still hve my little Brother, but alas, it was not to be.

My machine's name is Sylvia. For the record, I think naming your machine is silly. Yes, I said, "silly", but ... when my husband and I were debating on whether this was my macine or not I woke up one morning with the thought, "Her name is Sylvia" so ... what is one to do????? Asked my husband to go get my machine and ... did not tell him she has a name. We have been married only 39 years. It's too early in the relationship for him to know this about me.

Have fun, fun, fun. Be patient, patient, patient.

Happy for you I am one of many on this board who love their 6600's. My dad had a habit of naming inanimate objects...every car he ever owned was "Betsy" ... and so I try to spend as much time as I can with my Betsy - my 6600!

I love my 6600 and use it almost every day. Wish I had bought it years ago.
