Many thanks to Midwestmary for sending me the missing Feb.1950/1951 Workbasket magazines. I was able to create the machine embroideries and complete my Mother's 80th birthday quilt. For those of you who don't know the story: My Mother saved the Workbasket magazines from 1950/1951 and was always going to hand embroider the kids in the magazines of the months of the year. There was a girl and boy for each month. However, I was missing Feb. 1950/1951. Well I don't hand embroider but I do machine embroider. So I created the embroideries so my machine would stitch the embroideries for me and used 1930's fabric since my Mom was born in 1931. On July 30th I presented her with the quilt she was always going to make but never had the time. I am so thankful that I joined this board.

Your quilt is lovely and your mom looks happy with it. I'd really like to see some close ups of the embroidered blocks. Any chance you could do that?
