Our marching band goes every few years on a large band trip. This year they will be going to Washington DC to march and play in the Cherry Blossum parade. We are fund raising and since my daughter is in band (first year) and my DH is on the booster committee, I offered to make the tshirt quilt. I designed the middle part, and it says, YHS, Band and Color Guard and is all appliqued and embroidered. I still have one more line of tshirts that should be on the bottom. (I am waiting for this year's tshirt from the band teacher) I am going to try to find some more music fabric for the back, (still looking). Just wanted to show this off.

I believe that Gail Kessler who designs for Andover and has Ladyfingers Sewing Studio in Oley, PA has some with musical instruments on it, and also some with musical notes. Try googling her name and see what you might find. Looks great so far...they will be sooo happy with it and it should make lots for the band.

It's a great looking quilt so far. My son is in the HS marching band. He's a senior now, so has done quite a bit with his band these past three years already.

Someone will be very fortunate to win that quilt! T-shirt quilts are fun...I'm getting my third one ready to sandwich...

Wow, I love it! Huge former Marching Band gal, so I love that sort of thing. You'll have to show the entire thing once it's done!
