I am so excited that I am finally able to make my first baby quilt for a little girl.. :-D I just finished but have a problem! I cannot afford to send this out to be quilted so I was wandering how you would quilt it. I just found out from the mom-to-be that this quilt is going to be the main focus of the nursery...Talk about pressure  I have an embroidery machine that I can do single runs for quilting, but none seem right for the quilt. Please, Please Help!!!

I would start by doing 4 butterflies in the light and dark pink squares (FMQ).

Hearts in the main squares. Little swirly squiggles elsewhere.

On your embroidery machine do you have a plain butterfly outline, if so I would do one in each of the pink squares. If not I would make a copy of one of the butterflies from your border fabric and enlarge it just enough to have one fit your pink squares. Then I would probably do little loop meandering on the rest of it with maybe a heart here and there. Whatever you do I am sure it will be beautiful and made with love.
