You Know You Sew Too Much When...,

So last night when my family was watching TV (which I never get to do, but I was so exhausted I just plopped on the couch.) Anyway, we were changing the channel and we stopped at a show about Vampires and it was scary scene, and the vampire was about to bite a girl who was sleeping in her bed. Our family den was dark, creepy music was playing, the vampire was getting closer and closer..., and I blurt out to everyone, "Hey, that's an around the world quilt pattern on her bed."

Yeah, I think I ruined the scary moment and made some people a little upset. But I couldn't help it, I was excited that I recognized the pattern. I made place-mats for my mom a couple of years ago with the pattern.

Anyone else ever have a "you know you sew too much when..." experience?

Here's an around the world pattern, this is the place-mats I made my mom.

Love the placemats. Did you use a pattern or make it up as you go?

well, I saw a picture similar in a magazine, fell in love with it, and then I tried it myself. It was real hard at first, but now I understand the concept. Here are some directions but I'm sure there are better ones somewhere else on line.

Thanks - my mother has asked for placemats for Christmas and those would be perfect. I'll put pink where you have yellow, but other than that - perfect for her. (I love your green, but my mother is a pink lady, for sure! Her dishes have a green trim, but her wallpaper - yes, wallpaper - has pink tulips.)
