    Evening all :D

A few of our friends have shown interest in learning how I made my crumb block quilts. I have put together a photographic tutorial which shows exactly what to do step by step. Unfortunately it is too large to upload in this message. So if anybody would like it if you pm me your email addresses I will forward it on to you. :D

Well everybody you kept me very busy most of the night with your requests for the tutorial..I stayed up to watch patches give birth, wow what an experience that was so I was glad of the distraction at times..... :? we had a few hiccups with the downloading but I think most of you seem to be pleased with it. I am posting this message to keep it up at the top, incase some of you might of missed it, as you have all pm'd me so no messages posted and it moves down the list of topics

I am having difficulties with hotmail today, the service is very sporadic, so if anyone is waiting still, I will email it out to you as soon as I can :D :D Happy stitching everybody :D

IF any of you didn't manage to open it, and haven't let me know, please do I really don't mind re-sending it back to you... :D

I had to go to the Micro$oft website and download an update for filters for my 2002 Word but other than that no problems...
    came through just fine...
    thanks again

I made a pdf file out of it and it's only 486k instead of over a meg if you want me to send it back to you...

Yes please Janeen, until I get the 'add on' to enable me to produce pdf file that would be great :D Apart from the size of the document, it seems that the problem of opening is due to some of our members having the older version of office 2007, so I saved a copy as word 97-03 and it opens fine with everyone!!

Try this and it may reduce the file size enough.

Go to file, and Save As, rename copy.
Right-Click in a picture, choose format

On the first format screen, press the Compress button

Use the next screen to reduce picture size. If someone is reading it online, a super-high resolution is wasted.

Check file sizes. It should be substantially lower.

Thanks moonpi, I already resized the images to small whilst making it up, will it compress it further doing this???

it compresses the file size by reducing the resolution, not the size on the page. Depending on your originals, it may be a slight reduction, or a huge one. That is why I suggested doing a Save As first - if you look at them side by side, sometimes you can't even tell the differences.

I would not reccomend this if you needed to print photo-quality prints, but for most applications, it's a great space-saver.

Moonpi = I get soo frustrated with all of this....while it was fresh in my mind...I wrote down all what you suggested stage by stage...made a new copy renamed........right click on first image.....DUH nothing at all about compressing....I have office 2007, I suspect you use a different version....this one is so different from 03 which I used until very recently......grrrrrrhhhhhh!!!!!!
