Does anyone have a circular sewing attachment for their machine? I saw it online as well as on a tv show and now I'm intrigued by it...

I saw two different kinds - I'd love to know if anyone has either of them and how big or small can you make the circles with them?

The Distinctive brand one is only $20 on Amazon and the other one is double the price but it looks much larger - but then looks can be deceiving with pics online...

I saw how the one that looks like a metal bar works on a tv show and it was cool.. I do like gadgets though so of course I'm impressed lol

The Distinctive brand one I just don't see how it works. I didn't see any youtube videos for it either. The Amazon reviewer seemed to really love it though.

I have a Viking SE. The older version of the Viking quilting table has a line of holes every 1/2" or so, in a line going out to the left of the needle. You place your fabric on the table, stick a push pin in the appropriate hole and sew away. the fabric pivots around the pin. You can sew circles from about 6 to 20 inches. it's basically that top unit, but built into my quilting extension. it works well, just need to sew slowly. You may need to stableize your fabric.

I just purchased one to fit my Brother machine. It looks simular to the first photo here, the bar one. It fits to the machine and you slid the pin to the size you want. Mine uses a locking pin to hold the fabric to center. You then start your stitching and the machine pulls the fabric around. I do have to make sure the fabric doesn't get caught up against the machine as it's moving. But it works great! I can see it being used for lots of things.

I have one for my Bernina. It works like MzMcKee's. The draw back, as she said, is the small throat on my machine where it tends to bulk up and destroy the feed. I did quilt a table topper with it and Never Again!

i have one for my Janome that looks like the first one. the sales lady gave me the wrong one and i tried and tried to get it to pop in place. luckily I took it back and get the right one. it snaps in place over the bobbin area and you move the bar to the size circle you want to make. it has a sharp "tack" the fabric or qlt block goes over. not fond of that but it holds the fabric in place as it goes around.

I have one for an old Singer - Unfortunately I no longer have the machine

i did a project one time in which we taped a thumb tack - point up on the throat plate out the distance from the needle we wanted. Positioned the center of the fabric over the thumb tack and stitched away. Had to maintain conteol of the fabric but it worked fine. Might be able to put a thin ruler on top of the fabric to help hold it flat. At one time there was a vendor that sold one of the thin see thru 12" rulers with holes every 1/2". Such would work.
