Does anyone use blade sharpeners?

There are some pricy blade sharpeners on the market. Had anyone tried to sharpen rotary cutting blades and had any success? Inquiring minds.......

I use the blue one that you put the blade in and turn it to sharpen the blade. It does sharpen nicely but it will not take out nicks. I don't think any of them can do that as you would have to sharpen down below that nick.

I have three - none work
I probably wait too long; they might work if I used regularly.

I use the blue one too. It sharpens but not like new. I take it to classes with me. Other have used it too and liked it.

Yes, I use them and they work well. As soon as you see it's not cutting smoothly, sharpen the blade. Some people simply press harder on the blade to get it to cut but that isn't good for your mat. Sharpen when it needs it and you'll be very happy with the sharpener.

Yes use the blue one too and agree it does a fair job; I also think I wait too long.

I've never used one but I'm thinking about investing. I've got a mound of dull blades that need sharpening. I just keep saving them though. Eventually I'll get enough that it will warrant a sharpener. Also, I remember someone a while back that bought one of the deluxe models. I think she loved it.

Mine must be really old because it is green. Someone posted that you need to put 'power' into it as you twist. I am not able to do that, so it is useless to me.

I think I have tried every blade sharpener out there... none get it as sharp as I would like. So I stopped looking for what must be like finding "water in the desert".

I use the tru cut sharpener, it really helps extend the life of the blade.
