Need help asap!

Recently a local man was caught in a structure fire and burned very badly. To help cover medical costs the local Fire Department is putting a fundraiser together, including a silent auction. I have been asked to put together a quilt to put in the auction. The only bad part is, I have 6 days to buy, cut, sew and quilt this thing! What is a good simple pattern for a quilt that still looks beautiful?? Any suggestions would be AMAZING, since I am going to buy fabric tomorrow.

I have heard the Turning Twenty quilts are fast and easy...I haven't made one, tho...I have made several quilts from the 10 minute block book by Suzanne McNeill, here is a link to the book:
http://www.amazon.com/5358-10-Minute.../dp/1574216694
She also has a 2nd book out:
http://www.amazon.com/5364-Twist-amp...832929-6647742
I think if you go to youtube there are several videos that you can probably view and from them you can pretty much get the gist of how to make the blocks...some of them are really pretty...and they really are quick.
Good luck to you, and its a nice thing you are doing...hope the man gets better quickly...burns are so painful to recover from...

Rail Fence, Yellow Brick Road, Jelly Roll Race - Take a look at http://www.modabakeshop.com/search/label/Quilt These are geared towards pre cuts but you wouldn't have to use them.

Missouri Star Quilt Company has lots of simple, quick to go together quilts too http://quiltingtutorials.com/

Warm Wishes. I can do a lap size from start to finish in a weekend. I only do diagonal straight line quilting. Here is a link that someone else posted. http://www.quiltmaker.com/content_do...DoubleSize.pdf

I agree with Auntpiggylpn Missouri Star Tutorials are great and many of them use larger pieces of fabric so they go together quite quickly. Good luck, and take pictures of the finished project.

Missouri Star's double slice layer cake. One layer cake, very simple cuts, very forgiving. I pieced two of these in a couple of hours one morning; add a couple of hours for an allover meander and voila -- the longest part was the binding!

When working with big pieces as ..in the faster quilts its all about picking fabulous fabrics. Even a simple quilt of 8 inch or even a layer cake squares will look fabulous with great fabrics.

Remember it is the selection of fabric colors more than the pattern that makes a stunning quilt.
kudos to you for doing this!!!!!!
