Would you even bother?

Obviously I fussy cut flowers out of this fabric and now I'm left with this...
and silly me, not wanting to waste fabric, I'm thinking I can cut it further and use it in a scrap quilt but hmmn, what a pain in the you know what. I don't think there is an easy way. What would you do? How would you attempt to cut it? Or seriously, would you even bother? And I'll try to get a pic of one of the quilts that came from this mess if it will work... |
oh my gosh, what a sweet little quilt!
I would probably cut some strings from that piece of swiss cheese ;-) |
I would take the larger square template that you used & just cut as many of those size squares as you can. Might only be a few, but those little squares sure add up.
Pretty quilt! |
That is a very pretty quilt. There seems to be a lot of scrap fabric left .... :) if you wish you can cut that fabric up into lumber yard cuts, ....... 2 X 2, 2 X 4, 4 X 4, etc. or just cut it into useable hunks.

Might be time to throw that one out. would take a lot of time to cut it into something usable.
|
I save everything so I would cut out all that I could. I do this in the evenings when listening to tv. love the quilt
|
Pretty flower quilt! I would use the square and cut as many as you can, making sure they were on the straight of grain.
|
It looks like that piece of fabric did its job and gave you everything it had to give.
I think it might be difficult to salvage what's left, even for a scrap quilt, especially if you needed patches that are cut on grain. You have a lovely quilt; don't give the leftover hunk another thought. |
Seems like you could get some strips for a string quilt from the leftover piece--but it is a little hard to tell the dimensions of the leftover piece.
|
I would cut out the salvageable sections which I see are many. I toss the smaller unusable scrapes into a bag and donate them to a lady who makes bedding for the local shelter. Funny, my cleaning lady had them tied up ready to toss in the trash. I stopped her just in time.
