Width of binding
I've always done 2 1/2" binding, but have notice that it's kind of bulky looking. I did a small wall hanging and bound it with a 2" to try it...I liked it better. What size is YOUR normal? Do you different for wall hangings, table runners, or quilts? Somewhat new here! :p

I like 2 5/8. I first sew the binding on the back and then bring it to the front where I sew by machine with a decorative stitch.

I cut bias bindijg at 2- 7/8. It finishes at about 7/16 Inch.

I cut my binding 2 1/4". I started out with 2 1/2", but read lots of others used 2 1/4", so I switched and get much better results. I sew on the front and hand stitch the back on special quilts and machine sew on the back and front on others, and either way I like the 2 1/4" width binding.

I use 2 1/4" found it much better

Alex Anderson always does hers 2 1/4. i have done 2 1/4 for a skinny binding look but when doing that size i always trim my batting and backing flush with the top edges. usually i leave just under 1/4 of batting and backing past the edge of the top and use 2 1/2 inch binding. that bit of extra fills the binding.

I like 2-1/4".

2-1/4 for me too. 2" for tablerrunners and wallhangings

I started out as most with 2 1/2" but it felt and looked bulky. I tried different sizes and for several years have used 2 1/4" on my quilts. I do us 2" on table toppers and small wall hanging. You just have to play with different sizes until you find what's right for you. Good luck.
