Weighted Blanket

I pieced a modified Trip Around the World quilt top, added some backing, and sewed in almost 10 lbs of poly pellets into 3x4 rectangles. My SIL has headaches and insomnia due to a head injury, and I read that this type of blanket might help. I tried it out, and it's especially nice with a cat!

Obviously this quilt comes with a cat scan. I like the idea of extra weight. I hope it helps.

How did you add the pellets? Very carefully, I would think.

Even if the pellets do not work just lying under such a pretty blanket will certainly help her feel "rested".

Very nice and hope it helps her.

I'll be finding pellets for awhile! I sewed all the lengthwise seams so it made tubes, them funneled 1/4 cup of pellets into each tube, shook them down, pinned them in, and stitched across the width. Then I did the next row and sew on. It was pretty awkward!

Interesting idea. Hope it works for her!

It is certainly very pretty. Let us know if it helps your SIL.

Very pretty. It seems that both your SIL and the cat are enjoying the quilt. Good for you.
