Detective work, need some ideas
I am looking for my husband's older sister. All I have to go by is her name, age and the town she lives in.
I did a random Google search and came up blank. Any ideas as to where to look? I don't have any social media memberships to access. And don't want any. Please let us get our quilty brainstorming minds to work!! Thanks so much in advance |
Could you check with the police department in her town-?

You should try Facebook (to see if she has a page). There are also groups on Facebook, such as "Search Squad" which helps to find people. There are a lot of paid data bases ("Been Verified" is one that I can think of) that the search folks use. Also try Ancestry.com to see if she has a tree or appears on someone else's. You can often times track from there. Did you try "Whitepages.com" to see if there is actually a telephone listing? Sometimes the local library in the town you are searching in has city directories, phone books, etc. If it is a small town, sometimes calling town hall can get you a lead. (Tax records are public).
Let me know if you need anymore help. Good luck! |
If she married it, then it may be harder to find her. FamilySearch.org -- https://familysearch.org/ -- is run by the Mormon church but it has a lot of info about folks who are not Mormon. Rootsweb ( http://rootsweb.ancestry.com/ ) is run by Ancestry but if you are careful to stay on Rootsweb it is free. If you know the area where she may live, some states have their marriages/birth information online in a searchable form.
