New England, or Manhattan?

When I'm not watching my weight and carb intake, it's a thick, creamy, white, New England Clam Chowder for me. But, when I'm being more health conscious, then I'm always surprised at how tasty and satisfying Manhattan Clam Chowder is. It's really a toss up for me. What's your fave? Got a good recipe for it?

I'd rather skip the chowdah than have Manhattan style, I don't know why? I love a plain tomato bisque, with fresh herbs...but not Manhattan clam chowder. I've never made chowder, shame on my East Coast childhood! I do make a decent white clam sauce, tho'.

I like them both, tho hubby only liked Manhattan.

New England please, but it should not be thick. Not any thicker than heavy cream. I hate when you order it in a restaurant and it comes out like a white sauce. It should not be thickened with flour. (yes, I am a purist from New England!!)

New England chowder all the way! When I make mussels meuniere, I save the left over broth and use it as some of the liquid for New England clam chowder. Moe's in Florence Oregon has the best clam chowder.

Manhattan for me as I don’t care for anything creamy with sea food.

I like both...In my teenage years I worked at a restaurant which made the best New England clam chowder and I have a copy of the recipe but it makes gallons at a time 🤪

I'm not much of a cook and can't make it, but I'll take New England clam chowder every time.
