Help Identifying a Block

1 Attachment(s)
Hi fellow quilters,
I'm new here, and hoped that someone could help me identify the block used in this family quilt top. My aunt recently gave it to me, saying that my great-grandmother made it sometime in the early 1900s. I searched quilt index for "basket," "fan," and "bowl" blocks, but couldn't find it.
Thank you for your help!
Katie

well I thought nine patch basket but can't find any called that or near it so far... it looks easy to make though.

What an interesting block. A nine patch, a half square triangle, two rectangle blocks and two half square rectangles. It reminds me of a candelabra. Is it hand pieced? I hope someone comes up with the name.

Looks like an ice cream dish to me. No idea what it is actually called

There is one very similar on quilterscache, but with a 16 patch block, instead of the 9 patch with sashing on two sides. Quilterscache calls it nosegay, but that isn't what usually is considered nosegay quilt block. https://www.quilterscache.com/N/NosegayBlock.html I also found https://pickinstitchin.blogspot.com/...fit-gifts.html which has the 9 patch like yours. That is what got me looking for nosegay. I tried an image search and found another with 9 patch on etsy, but it was a full quilt and unavailable item which didn't have a 'view original' listing. https://www.etsy.com/listing/8355536...h-basket-quilt

Katie Q welcome to the board! If you are so inclined, I would love to see some of the other fabrics featured in this quilt. The style reminds me of my great-grandmother's quilts but theirs were made in the 30s-60s. I will keep searching for this particular pattern. The colors are wonderful!

it's called Topsy Turvy Nine Patch. I thought it was one by Judy Laquidara but I can't find that it is. I have her borders quilt book and its not in it.
