Default How to post links to other sites

I want to post a link to another site to show a vintage quilt, but not sure how to do it. Didn't know where to look on the Quilting Board for info. I tried the help section, but didn't find any info there.
    Thanks

When you are typing your message, put in the website address, either manually typed or copied/pasted. You should see a toolbar above the message section with the world icon (actually 2 of them 1 with a red 'x' and one without). Highlight the web address and click on the world icon without the 'x'. That will make a link to the site.

I copied my link and started my post but didn't see the world icon you mentioned. Where on the Quilting board is info on linking?

Copying the address and pasting it into the reply box has always worked for me, I've never had to manually link it as NJQuilter states above. Good info to have in case it doesn't work, though.

In the reply box, at the top, you should see this bar of icons.

Let me know if you don't see it and I can walk you through how to change your settings.

And here is a link to the Board's Help Center, which is listed on the home page.

I didn't see those icons when I was posting my question, so please tell me how to change settings. Thank you. I did find the help page, but didn't find a post on how to link. Maybe I didn't phrase it right.

I figured it out. I went into my settings and changed things. Thank you so much.

So now you have the icons? Excellent!

Have you tried simply copying the link and pasting it?

I did it first and it just showed as a long string that wasn't linkable. Once I hit the world icon a little box showed up and I pasted in there and that made it linkable. So glad to know that as I have tried to link in the past and never could find out how to do it. I am surprised that the setting info isn't in the help section, or I missed it.
