May finish
I tried to get this finished for April but between physical issues & having grands here it didn't happen. But it worked out well because I changed my plan. The patchwork was from a lap quilt I made back in 1970 when I was 15yr & recovering from surgery. It was tied & so easy to take apart. My plan was to leave it as a lap quilt & FMQ but in an email from FaveQuilts there were directions for a sewing machine cover that just tied on & was reversible. I knew it was right for my patchwork!
The other scrappy side is made from scraps left over from Craftsy BOM 2012.
The neat thing is when I look at the patchwork I can recall clothes I had made from the fabrics. I started making my clothes when I was 12 so that's when my addiction to fabric really started-LOL.
I may make another cover with the other half I have left from the patchwork.

It's 1 piece, just reversible. I'll get a pic of it on my machine & post. I made this for my big Babylock Esante but the nice thing about it not being fitted is that if I want to use it on another one I can or even use it for a different machine.

Joyce: What a great idea. Like Carriem, I would like to see them on a machine so that I understand how they fit. Love that they hold memories. Wish I had got an earlier start.

sewing machine cover on machine
Here's the reversible sewing machine cover on the machine. It has ties on either side but it's heavy enough that I can just lay it over it & it stays. It was a quick project once I decided to get it done.
