IDK QuiltE Im thinking W4mes' Frankie is a pretty understanding kind of monster. He is most likely just hangin around on the design wall overseeing the glass etching process. At least that is what Mikey and his girlfriend Celia are doing at the moment. They are overseeing my DP9. Im thinking Celias' block needs to be larger, Im still on the fence though with planning. I need to plan out the rest of the quilt squares and see which way Im going. Then I can take an afternoon and give Celia Fabric Life.

    aaaaahhhh ... justification of delays!
Yes indeed ... sometimes the break is good, as it gives you a better visual of what you want to do in the long run.

That's what I'll say about Miss Peep ... ideas are flowing ... and I know it has to be on hold until I find the right meadow fabric! Being that it'll be the main background fabric, everything will take it's cue from there ... I'm hoping for a soft gentle meadow look, though if it's more vibrant, it would change everything. And too, there's so many shades/tones of green .... oh good excuse!!

Once there, I visualize a lot of times where it'll just stick on the design wall, as I contemplate, what next? I am so not as creative as many of the rest of you ... so it'll be a time study!

LOL QuiltE How many shades/tones of green are you going to audition?? I think you under state your creativeness also. I have seen your work. Mikeys' girlfriend Ceila has made it on to fabric. The fabrics are pulled, the templates have been created and I have actually sewn one of her arms on the background. Its been a great day for me today. I tired but feeling very happy.

My challenge is not so much the colour ... but finding the "right" fabric!
I want a meadow that has little flowers in it!!!!!!!!!
..... so far no luck, but I'm holding out and hoping that it'll jump into my arms and say Pick Me Pick Me!!!
There's one store I haven't been to yet, that I am hoping will have it ... I need time, to get there ... and lots of time to go thru the possibilities.
And right now, time is a precious commodity for me!

Oh, this is perfect! I designed a "Sunbonnet Sue in Texas" quilt last year. My daughter liked the idea, but is not a fan of Sue. Since her sign is cancer (crab) she sort of collects "crab things". She asked me to make her a crab quilt, only she wants her crab to travel the world. He already has a name - "Colby". So very soon I'll be starting on "Colby the crab travels the world." This will be great to post progress! Great challenge!

All of you guys are Jacob suh great ideas. I have been camping and won't go home until tonight to work on anything. But after that I leave friday night to go down to Florida for the months of August. I don't think I will be getting much done. I hope that I can do some of my hand appliqué that I have sitting around but will not get to work on this quilt or the Mario quilt along that I want to do so badly. I am hoping that the fabric that I buy will be waiting for my arrival when I get back (or maybe I will have it delivered to Florida and I can get some of it cut while down there)

I found some great "outer space / planet" themed fabric I'm going to use for my Doctor Who quilt. Have to wait for some funding before I can get it though. Trying to decide if I should get just enough for the main center background where the TARDIS is going to be appliqued.....or enough for the border too.

I'm so pleased with how this challenge is going. Thank you all for making this as fun and varied as I'd hoped it would be.

sharoney - fabulous idea. Colby sounds great. Maybe he and Franky will meet in Japan.

brookemarie19 - yes, real life does interfere sometimes. That's what is happening to poor Franky. But, you are stilling thinking of your quilt and following along so that is good. Enjoy your trip to Florida.

vickig626 - I've seem quite a few really neat space fabrics. That will be a lot of fun for a background. Personally, I would get enough for the border too, just in case. I'm all about options. And, I guarantee if you only get enough for the background and decide to do the border later, the fabric will have disappeared from everywhere. Not that I have any experience with that.

I was thinking that too. I can always use it for something else (just another addition to the "stash" LOL).
