W4Me ... if I got thru the cow, you can get thru Franky! :)
Beth 33 ... Welcome!!!! this is the thread that never ends!! Though that is true, don't let that give you an excuse to get started. Just start and work on it when you can! |

Heeer's Franky! Well, his ankles and feet anyway.
In order to get some separation for his legs (and arms/torso) I think I will quilt using a funky colour - maybe lilac or orange. Haven't yet decided if I use double the quilt batting to make his legs puffier. I don't think so. That step is a long way off, though, even if I use Jenniky's QAYG. |
I bet Frankie is feeling taller already!! :D :D

Thanks gardnergal970. I doubt I'll try to pouf him up. I'll most likely just use the coloured thread for the separation. I'm also thinking of doing an embroidery chain or split stitch instead. Lots of time to decide.

Looks like it's all "up" for Franky now!! :)
A great start ... and now onwards to his knickers? I just knew you wouldn't ignore him til the etching was done!!! :) Another way for puff ... lofty poly batting .... less quilting where you want puff and more quilting elsewhere. Could be stippling or cross-hatching across your 1" finished squares would flatten it all down nicely! :) And too ... you'll be sure to do lots of embellishing that'll help pop him out, if not puffed! :) (note: ... purple, just for Franky!) |
Wow such great progress you ladies are having and love the stories behind all these characters. So busy right now no time for this fun, but as I said, watching and reading the fun going on. After quilt show season will be able to join in and then maybe I will be done with these UFOs, to bad I did not have one to incorporate here but none to be had.

Franky got more love this past weekend. I was ahead of schedule on the glass etching (as in FINISHED the custom order) so played with Franky. His britches/leg triangles are sewn together and he is one row away from having his britches showing. (OK, I'm tired, so sue me. :) )
|
Yeah for you, for being ahead of schedule ... now to stay that way, right?A
Did you give Franky a 3-D effect with those triangle? or are they pieced? All's good ... so long as Franky doesn't get his knickers in a knot!! :D |
Actually, Franky is behind schedule by about three weeks. All his triangle transitions will be pieced. Too much work otherwise, even more than he already is. Poor Franky is going to be ignored again this weekend because there is too much going on.
