Yep, Dukes mayonnaise in the south! If we eat chicken salad without Dukes the comment is "She didn't use Dukes, bless her heart!" There's a man in North Carolina who plans for his ashes to be placed in a Dukes jar; the company even made a special label for his jar with his name on it!

Seriously, this sounds like an awesome recipe and I'll definitely try it using the Miracle Whip HIDDEN in the back of the refrigerator!

Sounds Yummy !
Years ago we ate at 'The Machine Shed' in Des Moines, IA by Living History Farms. We enjoyed the meat loaf and cole slaw I teased the waitress about the recipes for them. When leaving the chef came out and gave the the recipes! BUT he said 'do not use Miracle Whip, it is not for you. Just get the cheapest salad dressing you can find. and I needed t o remember the recipes were for 100 people. so I cut it in half and then in half again. They are great.
So I will be trying your recipe. need to put in eggs too

A sandwich shop here uses cashews and I prefer them over almonds in this salad.

This recipe is very similar to mine, and I do use Duke's Mayo in my chicken salad. But I have recipes that I do use Miracle Whip in and they fit the salad. Miracle Whip is a 'salad' dressing, it's not a mayonnaise brand name. It is similar to what you get when you take a mayonnaise and put additives in it, such as sugar, mustard, sweet pickle juice, lemon juices, etc. I love chicken salad on these hot summer days, usually put it in onion buns fresh from the bakery. So good.

I have to admit I have never heard of Duke's Mayo before. But, for those who do not like Miracle Whip, definitely use mayo. We all have our preference so tweek it so your taste buds are happy.
I did forget to add that I sometimes add some Craisins if I have them on hand. They add another unique flavor with the grapes & apple.
I am thrilled that so many of you like my recipe. I hope that some of you who try this recipe will come back and repost and tell me how you liked it. And, thimblebug 6000, So sorry to tell you, that I finished off the last of my chicken salad right before I posted this. But, wouldn't it be fun for a bunch of us to meet and share some of this chicken salad and a glass of iced tea, and get acquainted. May even want to do a little quilting together. LOL!!!!
ENJOY!
