Chocolate Fudge
Chocolate Walnut Fudge
4 cups sugar
1 large can carnation milk
1/3 stick butter
dash of salt
Bring above ingredients to a full boil and cook for 5 minutes.
Remove from the heat and add:
9 oz milk chocolate
12 oz bag chocolate chips (semi sweet)
3 oz unsweetened chocolate
1 small jar marshmallow fluff
1 tsp vanilla
Stir well until chocolate and marshmallow is melted.
Add 2 cups walnuts
Pour onto buttered cookie sheet. Cool, and cut into squares.
makes 5 lbs
This recipe has evolved from one from my grandma to my mom and now to me. I like my fudge less sweet, so I added the unsweetened chocolate to the recipe.
Enjoy!

patchsamkim, that is like my old recipe.
But this is the recipe I have made this year, it is super easy and quick.
12oz. package chocolate chips, your choice of flavor
1 tub CREAMY, no whipped, frosting, to compliment chips
chopped nuts, if desired
Melt chips in microwave until almost melted, stir well. Fold in tub of frosting and nuts if desired.
Line an 8"x8" pan with wax paper, pour fudge in pan, cool, cut.
I made chocolate, added some mint chips but did not stir to melt completely.
Used white chips/frosting and added 1 cup peanut butter, again did not mix completely=swirled flavor/color
butterscotch chips/white frosting/walnuts
white or semi-sweet chips/chocolate frosting/walnuts
white chips/white frosting/crushed candy canes sprinkled in and on top

Thanks for the variations! Adding peanut butter is a great idea. I did make it with black walnuts one year...they are very hard to find. Yes, 5# is a lot...but I give a lot away...and keep it in the freezer until I do...with packing tape around the container
