Default Easy low calorie dessert

One box Angel Food cake mix. One can 20 ounce crushed pineapple in it's own juice. Stir together and it starts to foam. Mix thoroughly with a spoon. Put in 9 x 13 pan and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Can serve plain or with sugar free Cool Whip. Doesn't get any easier than that folks!

Oooh, I love this dessert! So easy and so, so good! I sometimes add some chopped maraschino cherries (and a bit of the juice for a pretty colored cake!) to the batter. Yum, yum, yum!!! You can also add some coconut to the batter and even sprinkle some on top (it toasts while the cake bakes for a great look and flavor). Any way you make this it is super easy and delicious! Thanks for posting this Zinda - I haven't made this cake in a while and you have inspired me to get one made today!

You can also substitute any can of pie filling for the pineapple.

I am so happy to see that recipe. It was listed a while back but I forgot exactly how to make. Got the ingredients (all two of them) and then did not know what to do with them, Thanks for printing it again. Now I can make it. Sounds great!

I believe I posted before, but I sometimes make this for my diabetic hubby. I often add a package of sugar-free jello(just sprinkle it in as mixing) of almost any flavor. Raspberry is one of our favorites.

I tried one of these Angel Food cake Mix surprises, but with canned lemon pie filling. It was supposed to make lemon bars. It made chewy canned lemon. Not a success in my book, sad to say.

Has anyone tried this one and approves of it?
peace

What a great idea to add sugar-free jello. Just cleaned out our pantry and to both of our amazement, we found about 30 boxes of sugar-free jello. Now I have an extra way to use it up!
