    Ingredients
    25 g butter 1 bay leaf 4 spareribs 200 g sauerkraut 2 dried mushrooms ( soaked overnight) 1 onion ( sliced) 1 1/4 liters water Directions
    Heat butter in a small frying pan and fry the spare ribs briskly to seal in their juices.
    Gently boil the ribs and all the other ingredients in the water for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sauerkraut softens.
    Remove the spare ribs and bay leaf, season to taste and serve.

I guess I will just have to experiment with this recipe and just keep trying different things.

    Some opf you ladies said if I found the recipe, to let you know what the recipe is.

    My Dad made this with only the ribs and Kraut. Had no idea that it had a name. Cooked on the stove til the ribs were tender. Mashed Potatoes on the side. I think I know what's for dinner tomorrow night..

    sounds like what I call "good peasant meal" but the "g" measurements are throwing me?????????????

    Beat you. We had Brats and Kraut on Monday night. Also served home style mashed potatoes and stewed apples. Yummy ! Hugs
