I need Cuisinart HELP!

I just bought a new 7 cup Cuisinart and thought it was really messed up as it would only turn on if I pushed in a tiny black button and held it. I finally figured out the handle of the bowl was suppose to be set so so it pushed it in. LOL. It's very easy to lock the bowl and take it off. I don't know about the older versions.
