I am planning on bbq later if not too hot and not raining! Have a couple bacon wrapped filet mignon steaks, some sausage, makine baked beans (well Bush's made em) and texas toast, just me and mama, so not too much! I think the traditionals include bbq, baked beans, potato salad or we like cheesy potatoes, garlic bread. Watermelon, pies, and ice cream! Where on earth do you put all this?! LOL!

Oh, all your dishes look so good. I told my DH that it seems funny to not have traditional picnic foods today...baked beans, cole slaw or potato salad today. There will be 5 of us for supper before the fireworks and we're grilling steak. I stopped at a farmers market yesterday and got fresh corn on the cob, green beans and new red potatoes. So that's what's we're having...oh, and I made a fresh blueberry pie. I'm going to use Pioneer Womans' recipe for smashed potatoes, which are served hot, so no cold potato salad today.

yum, sounds good and I bet it was. We ordered take out BBQ with coleslaw and baked beans. I made a peanut butter pie. Next time I will make the beans and coleslaw, too - mine are better! But no one went hungry.....

I made the cherry cobbler from a web recipe. It was ok. I make the peach one my way. I put the sliced peaches on the bottom of the pan with a 1/4 c brown sugar and 1/4 stick of butter and let that melt in the oven. Then I mixed 2 cups flour, 2 teas bp, 3/4 stick butter, 1/2 c. brown sugar and 3 eggs and about 1c of milk...you will have to see if you need more or not. I just mix things up. I never put cinnamon, as it takes over everything. I like to taste the fruit. I would make any cobbler using the same recipe as the peach one.
