Some of you may remember on Chat last month when I was telling the story of how I had to quickly make up a quilt for my son's girlfriend after I insulted her on Christmas Eve (no, I really wasn't drunk, but close enough to it that I really didn't care what I was saying when I told her to take the stick out of her butt and loosen up a little  )

Her birthday is the 4th of July and this is what she wanted.

Soooooooooooo, anyhoo, here is the quilt top. I'm going to be spraying it tomorrow to sandwich it (hope that works) an getting it quilted over the next week or so.

sorry for the messy room - son's not mine

    Sharon, thanks for the compliments.

The pattern is called Fireworks Fancy and is out of the book Amazingly Simple Star Quilts by Jeanne Stauffer & Sandra L. Hatch.

Pretty quilt Lee, Lots of people I know need to hear that phrase. I just avoid them, until they push the right button!

I can hardly stop laughing, I'm even getting funny looks from DH & my son. I had to share your story.
It's gone down here really well.
I'd appreciate being insulted by you too if I was to be so fortunate to receive such a georgous quilt. Colours are just perfect for July huh!

No, she really hasn't changed much. I'm waiting for my birthday to hit the wine again and tell her that if she doesn't take that stick out of her butt, I will and then beat her about the head with it

I'm sure that will go over very well.
