Default looking for taste good and easy scone recipe any one got one?

Looking for an easy good tasting scone recipe. Love them with fruit in them. Any one have a recipe they could pass on? Thanks for your help.

Well I just made some yesterday and they were delicious. You'll have to look up the conversions.

250g Plain Flour
4tsp of baking powder
Pinch of salt
50g butter
50g caster sugar
50g of fruit I usually use dried but have used fresh apples and blueberries.
1 egg mixed with milk to 140ml.

Put flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl, add cubed butter and rub in. When mixture resembles bread crumbs add in sugar and fruit. Mix well with hands. Add enough egg mixture to bind together into a dough, not too wet. Roll out to about 1/2". I cut mine into rounds about 2inch. Place on greased tray brush tops with remainder of egg mixture and put into hot oven 200c for between 8 -10 minutes. Enjoy.

You might search for some recipes on a PBS show called The Great British Baking show. The recipes are suppose to be on the web.

Here is a link to one we made recently. Very Good. Stayed moist, not crumbly. http://www.averiecooks.com/2014/04/t...ry-scones.html
I just happened to have all sorts of berries in the freezer from the garden last year.

Here's one I got on pinterest. I love it but I do increase the sugar to 1/2 cup

3 cupsof flour (you can use all white, all whole wheat, or mix the two)
1/3 cup of sugar
2 1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
1/2 tsp. Baking Soda (make sure you don’t get the two mixed up!)
1 tsp. salt
3/4 cup of butter (that’s 1 1/2 sticks) at room temperature
Whatever you want to put in them (chocolate chips, white chocolate chips andcraisins, cinnamon chips… be creative!)
1 cup of Buttermilk (you can use already made buttermilk or you can make your ownbuttermilk!)
Cream to brush on top of the scones before you bake them

Here’s how to make them:
1.Preheat your over to 400 degrees.
2. Putthe flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt into a bowl and mixwell. Add the butter.

I never get to make scones because of the high fat content. Also, limiting my carbs. Anyone have a recipe for one with no flour, sugar and butter?

There must be more to this recipe. How long are these baked?

LOL
I hear your pain. Is it still a scone then? I think I will have some ground buckwheat boiled in butter milk this morning.

Who knew the BBC has great recipes?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/scones_1285

The last time I made some, I put in dried cranberries and candied pineapple, chopped up - super good!!
