are you meaning the old style clamp ones? That is what I think of when I hear meat grinder, but I realize they must have electric ones now.

I have my mother's Warever one. It gets passed through the family when needed (it's 60 plus years old). A friend of mine bought an electric one, it lasted two Christmas' for baking. She went back to borrowing mine again until she found an old crank one at a thrift store.

Unless you're going to get a heavy duty industrial one you just can beat those old hand cranked ones. However, if you have a Kitchen Aide mixer there is a grinding attachment you can purchase for them. I have one but I'm not sure how well it works since I've never used it. I still use the old fashioned one.

Check Cabela's Depending on how much your going to grind make sure to have the HP We make Sausage etc every year and have a large one as we do several pounds like 100+.

You might want to check out Agrisupply.com. They have both the manual and electric.

We grind deer meat and other meats. We purchased one in the states at cabela's. It was on sale so the price was right. We really like it and get lots of use out of it.
