patiese1 10-29-2011 02:29 PM

1 Coffee mug
4 Tbsp Flour
4 Tbsp Sugar
2 Tbsp Cocoa
1 Egg
3 Tbsp Milk
3 Tbsp Oil
A small splash of vanilla
3 Tbsp Chocolate Chips( if you really want to live dangerous)

Add dry ingredients to mug mix wll with a fork. Add egg, mix thoroughly. Pour in milk ,oil and vanilla, mix well. Add chips if wanted) Put mug in microwave and cook for 3 minutes on 1000 watts microwave a little longer if you have a different wattage microwave. Cake will rise over the top of mug- Do not be alarm. Allow to cool a little; tip onto plate if desired. I usually eat it straight from the mug. I dip my spoon in icing and then dig into the cake and so on and so on. The reason its dangerous is you can now have chocolate cake anytime you want. I usually make up bags of the dry mix ingredients and then add the wet stuff whenever I want some cake!

sewgull 10-29-2011 03:25 PM

Self rising flour or plain?

Snorky Lvs2Quilt 10-29-2011 04:33 PM

Ohhh this sounds way too yummy and easy. Eating it warm from the microwave with some topping and a cup of coffee......a little bit of heaven I would say. Thanks!!

KarenB 10-30-2011 03:15 AM

We love this cake, sometimes split into 2 servings, topped with cool whip or ice cream while it is still warm. It tastes and smells divine! A true chocolate lover's dream come true!

cairns 10-30-2011 04:28 AM

Thank you will try it today.

I have given this recipe printed on a pretty card and placed in a cute coffee mug as a stocking stuffer Christmas gift, or last minute gift when the need arrives.

quiltymom 10-30-2011 09:28 AM

I was given a cookbook for cakes in a mug some are great but others you can't find ingredients for!!!

tilliestotes 10-30-2011 11:57 AM

what size coffee mug did you use

quiltymom 10-30-2011 01:07 PM

I use either a nice size round or a tall mug will send a pic shortly

iquilttooo 10-30-2011 01:09 PM

a large one--I guess it would hold 8 to 10 oz-- a regular coffee cup only holds about 6 oz. I try to find a mug that matches the person I am giving it to, put the recipe in, and a cute mug rug to match would be an adorable and inexpensive gift. (I just thought of the mug rug idea)

hazel brady 10-30-2011 01:36 PM

what a dangerous and simple receipe divine

ptquilts 10-30-2011 01:39 PM

I usually cut the recipe in half, trying to save on calories. They are good.

Initially this sounded great, but having looked at it again, I don't think I could get all those tablespoons of dry ingredients in a mug, let alone adding in the egg , milk and oil! Are these quantities really meant for one mug?

sewmuchmore 11-02-2011 07:35 PM

This would make a cute Christmas gift. Thank You, for sharing.

Mandie 11-03-2011 05:20 PM

Gotta try this Gonna pass it on to my MIL too she loves recipes like this.

Material Witness 11-03-2011 05:32 PM

Fie on you for ruining our New Year's resolutions!
Coincidently, I have 6-mo old chickens that are just starting to lay, and they lay the cutest small eggs. These eggs are perfect for this recipe, as they equal about half a regular egg.
Now do you have a pie-in-a-cup recipe?

anniesews 11-04-2011 08:30 AM

Tried this too and it is yummy too. I lke your idea of dipping the fork in the frosting rather than put a gob of frosting on the mug.

Gladys 11-04-2011 02:56 PM

Oh my goodness this sounds wonderful!

OKLAHOMA PEACH 11-05-2011 08:38 AM
