I make this pie all the time!! It's a great hit with everyone. You can add some cocoa to make chocolate. Or some coconut to make it coconut custard.

Pippi65, what type chocolate do you use for this pie? Dry cocoa or melted chocolate? Thanks for you help...family loves chocolate...no, I LOVE chocolate.

You want to melt the butter.
This recipe reminded me of my aunt who was making this for company into her 90's. After seeing this yesterday I decided to make this for last nights dinner. I added coconut and my non coconut eating son wolfed it down.

It's in the oven now, I hope it works. Looked like vanilla milk when I poured it in the pan!

Yes ... it should thicken up nicely, and the flour will drop out to form a thin crust.
Did you add the coconut and nuts? or keep it plain?

Anael 05-05-2013 05:54 AM

I added the coconut, I didn't have nuts. So when this works maybe next time :)
It smells great!
