MONKEY BREAD

1/2 C granulated sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon

2 cans Grands buttermilk biscuits

1/2 C butter, melted
1 tsp vanilla
1 C packed brown sugar

Mix the 1/2 C sugar and cinnamon in a gallon zip lock bag.
Cut the unbaked biscuits into 1/4's and add to the zip lock. Shake well to coat all the biscuit pieces.

Melt the butter and add the vanilla and brown sugar. Stir well to dissolve the sugar.

Put the coated biscuit pieces into an AngelFood cake pan ~or a bundt cake pan~ pour the butter/brown sugar mixture over the top.

Bake for 45 minutes at 350º ... remove from oven and invert onto a serving platter.

This sounds like a good, fast easy recipe. Thanks

I use bread dough with this recipie.

Kids love it.

If you want to 'lighten' up the recipe do not use the 'topping'. Just roll the dough and add to a greased pan. This is an excellent recipe for little hands. The kids are always so proud that they made it.

I love that recipe. I served it for my Satellite quilting group last month.

Does anyone know why this has it's name - monkey bread?

I haven't made it since my kids were little, monkeys, but it's very yummy to any species!

Thanks for the recipe, I love Monkey Bread and lost my original recipe. I like this one as it isn't as much as the one I had. Mine used 4 tubes of biscuits.

Try adding chopped nuts or dates, just put in as you add bread in pan. We add pecans, sooooooooooooo good!!!
