Quilters Hand lotion

I found this recipe on another website, and I just love it.... My hands were dry and almost coarse. Now my hands are silky and soft. I can't buy Vitamin A in our local towns, so I had to order it off the internet, under Walgeens website, the Walgreen's stores (in our area) don't carry it. I reduced the recipe to meet the one jar of Vitamin A.

Homemade Quilters Hand Cream

1- 4 oz jar Vitamin A cream
1- 4 oz jar Vitamin E cream
just under 2 oz vaseline or petroleum jelly
2 - oz creamy baby oil

Whip all ingredients together, and place in decorative jars.

For a larger recipe, go to www.quiltville.com and type in the recipe name. Share the cost with other quilting friends. The recipe says you can purchase Vitamin A at a "Shoppers Drug Mart". Our small towns don't have such store.

Thanks! I am always looking for extra rich hand cream, especially this time of year.

I mix the pink baby lotion (large size), a jar of vitamin E cream and a large bottle of Vaseline Extra Dry Skin Lotion. That makes a fine quilters lotion and smells good too. I keep the vitamin E cream jar to transfer it to after mixing. The rest I just put back into the Vaseline bottle and/or the baby lotion bottle (using a small funnel) until the jar runs dry.

Winter weather is on the way, time to whip up a batch!

My husband loves this lotion! I use the vaseline, vitamin E cream and baby lotion recipe and it requires it to be hand mixed because of the thickness. My husband volunteers to mix it up for me because it coats his dry hands at the same time

Isn't this stuff great, makes great gifts in little jars from a resale shop. But make sure you give the recipe with the gift or they will be back for refills. *Ü*

Forgot to mention I use my Kitchen Aid stand mixer to mix it well, just do NOT lick the beater.

I've been making this for quite a while. I make 6 jars at a time. I use 2 Vit E's, a small jar of vaseline, and a med bottle of pink baby lotion. I love it. put it on my feet and DH back, anyplace that needs it.LOL
