i was wondering if anybody just pinched off a peice of dough and rolled it out anymore
i am 85 and just can't make biscuit fit to eat anymore i've lost my touch |
I think I've done that a few times over the years. Right now I'm in to scones....everyone calls me the scone lady. It's not good for my waistline.

I do make homemade biscuits when i have time - but if your in a pinch.....or too busy sewing......Schwans delivery trucks have awesome biscuits. I used them at Christmas along with sausage gravy--nobody knew they were not mine!!!

I agree about the the recipe for the white lily ones but I use whatever flour I have on hand. 3 nights ago I made 30 biscuits for 7 people and they were arguing over the last one.lol

I made these last night and they are sooooooooooo good. Thanks for the tip of just puting the batter in the pan.

In my opinion, this is the only way to go.

Hints: Don't over mix...seriously. They're sensitive little rascals that hate a beating/pounding! ;) Odd as this may sound..Don't twist that cutter on the way up..go straight down..straight up..I learned after Years..it's the difference.. DO add a bit of Sugar.. try a bit more each time until it tastes "right!" Don't give up! It took me 15 years to get mine "right!"

If you do have buttermilk then use regular milk with 1 or 2 Tablespoons of white vinegar.

On a show on tv, they said the brands like King Arthur, White Lily and others maybe were more like cake flour which makes sense that all you great cooks prefer it for good biscuits. .I have not been able to make good biscuits from scratch, but can do cinnamon rolls. Every once in awhile I crave a biscuit and sausage from McD's.
