Talking Rice Krispe ??

I need to make some treats for two small pot-lucks. One is on Friday, the other is on Monday. I was asked to make rice Krispe squares, for the one on Friday. If I make them on Thursday for Friday will it be OK to use them on Monday. Will they be too stale. Haven't made them in years.

They have never lasted long enough at my house to know for sure. If it were me, I would make two separate batches.

I think that's too many days ahead. They'd probably be best if you made them the day before

Do you have a Food Saver? It may be okay if you seal them? Just be careful not to take out too much air. I have to agree with June - with me around they would never make it to Saturday evening.

It doesn't take very long to make them, if you use the microwave. So, I would wait until the morning of the event,
because they do have a tendency to dry out.

I agree too many days to do both! My family likes the Peanut Butter Rice Crispies type.

In a pan mix 1cup of sugar with 1cup of clear Karo syrup and bring to a boil for exactly 1minute! ( will ruin if you cook too long) Remove from heat and stir in 1cup + peanut butter - stir till smooth. Add 6 cups of rice cereal and press into 9x13 pan. Melt 1/2 of a 12oz package of chocolate chips and 1/2 pkg butterscotch chips - stir well and frost the bars.

I had a couple bags of mint marshmallows left from hot chocolate and am going to try making these treats with the cocoa rice cereal and the mint marshmallows.
Anyone ever tried this?

Shoot, I sat and ate a small bag of marshmallows the night the neighbor told me I had to move from my cottage when they bought it, because I was so depressed and sad. NOW, of course, I wish I had that bag back so I could make some krispie bars!!
