shucking ears of corn

YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE THIS. If you hate shucking ears of corn and ending up with all the stringy silks to pick off, try this. It is absolutely unbelievable and yet so simple. I wonder what took the world so long to figure this out.

My husband & I cook our ears of corn in the microwave 2 minutes on a side for each ear.
Let it cool a bit and then just pull everything down & it is clean. We don't even cut the end off the ear--that is used for holding onto the corn.
Have done this for years.

You can also do this in your oven or the stove top. We only ever steam our corn done (if not cooking it on the grill), to steam it done, use a rack to place corn on and add water (do not let the water touch the corn), bring to a boil and turn down heat and let simmer like that for 10 minutes..
