Here is my favorite recipe for snack mix. I have made it for over 12 years and still get requests. I always make it at Christmas as it keeps well in tins. But I also make it during the year and share with neighbors and the college kids. I hope you like it!

Praline Pecan Crunch

16 oz package Quaker Oat Squares (8 cups)
2 cups pecan pieces
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1/4 cup butter (1/2 stick)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Heat oven to 250 degrees. Combine cereal and pecans in a 13 x 9 inch pan. Combine corn syrup, brown sugar and butter in a 2 cup microwaveable bowl. Microwave on High for 1 1/2 minutes. Stir Well. Microwave on High for an additional 1/2 to 1 1/2 minutes or until boiling. I usually let mine boil for about 15 to 20 seconds. Stir well and add vanilla and baking soda. The mixture will become caramel colored and creamy. Pour over cereal and pecans. Mix well and bake for 1 hour, stirring every 20 minutes. Spread on baking sheet and cool completely. Break into pieces. Makes 10 cups.

This recipe was on the cereal box a very long time ago and then disappeared. Now I see it occasionally on the box at Christmas, but it has changed and is not as good. I hope you all enjoy it!

It is cereal. It can be hard to find, not all stores carry it. I never can find it at Walmart, but my grocery store carries it.
