Default When You're Baking Something....

...That requires molasses, honey, or Karo syrup, and it calls for, let's say 1/2 a cup. I know I'll not be getting every single drop of this thick liquid out of the measuring cup, not even with a rubber scraper. Do you allow for this an put in a tiny smidge more when you are first pouring it into the cup? I have often wondered about this, but have never asked anyone this question.

I do not usually worry about it. I have never found it makes a difference in the baking and cooking I do.

I give the measuring cup a quick spray with non stick cooking spray, it comes out fine.

No, I just scrape it out and go on.

Depending on the recipe I measure the goo and then measure sugar with the cup. It is easier to scrape out this way.

If the recipe calls for oil I measure the oil first then use that cup to measure the syrup. Otherwise, I don't worry about it

I do as toverly does, and spray first with non stick cooking spray.

I just measure and go. Usually not a significant amount of waste to worry about.

Maybe setting the container in warm water. That's what I do or else I don't worry about it.
