I read somewhere to use steel wool as it will sharpen your pins. I have a pattern to make one and I like the idea of putting the fiberfill around the steel wool.

This looks like the same one my mom just gave me. She bought in 1947 for 130.00. She still had the original sale receipt. I want to get it cleaned up. It still works and I am so excited.

All I use is my Janome 6600. I have quilted a queen size on it. I use the free motion quilt foot. But if you can afford a sweet sixteen and have the room go for it.
