Not necessarily. I've been looking into a Sweet Sixteen and they make a table that you can either sit or stand. In both positions with the SS you move the quilt under the machine.

You need to line up the folded edges on the ruler and make a straight cut. After cutting a few strips, re-aline your ruler and straighten out the cut before you cut more. You will have much better...

Your quilt is lovely and your quilting is gorgeous, no need for applique. I actually think that it takes away from the quilt and doesn't blend in well, sort of sticks out like a sore thumb. Great job!
