Another way to keep your 6 1/2 inch square from moving while you are cutting your fabric is to use that non slip (kind of rubber stuff) that you line cabinet selves with. Just cut a small piece to put under the template and you won't have slipping issues. I have used the silicone "dots" on the back of my rulers but I don't like them because they won't lay flat on the fabric.
