I have been told that too. I was also told not to grab onto the steering wheel and pull when getting in the car. It can break stuff off inside and can actually break the steering wheel itself

FYI If your using that for car keys do not have anything heavy in the purse/holder. I was getting the shaking finger from my mechanic for having a lot of nifty gadgets on my keys, he told me that he just replaced his wife's ignition tumblers on her car from her having too much weight on the keys and it wore down the tumblers.
