Yum that sounds good! I'll have to try that. Another thing I do in the crock pot is roast garlic. Cut the top off a head, drizzle with olive oil, wrap in foil then cook in the crockpot- high 4-5 hours, low 6-8 . I do several heads at once & usually put the crockpot outside because the smell is too strong for my husband.
Reminds me of one time I put on a large crock of veggie soup which was mostly destined for the freezer.
So I thought, why not let it cook overnight.
I woke in the middle of the night ... severely nauseous!
... thanks to the cabbage aroma that had filled my home.
Learned that lesson ............. and it took a long time before I could handle making it, even during the daytime.
Ironically, the sweetness of the cooked cabbage is what I love in that soup ... though the middle of the night aroma was not a good mix!
