I can't begin to tell you how many times I've looked at a profile to get an idea of where someone is from or sent a PM to several people only to find someone close to me. I understand protecting your information (I'm hardcore about shredding everything that comes in my house with my name on it) but I really think giving your state isn't getting too personal. You don't have to put much to give a decent location. I'm in SW Indiana---------So I'm close to western Kentucky and SE Illinois. I'm 4 hours from several major cities, and a hour away from a bunch of smaller cities. "Indiana" alone won't say much. I'm closer to Missouri, Tennessee, Ohio and a few other places than I am Elkhart or Fort Wayne, even though they are in Indiana.
